The Rachel Corrie Foundation invites all who are concerned about the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip to participate in the two vigils this week in Olympia, Washington, sponsored by the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Some signs will be provided and participants are also encouraged to bring their own. Murder on Occupied Land – Aysenur and the Stuggle Against Israeli Occupation
Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, an international solidarity activist was tragically killed by Israeli snipers in the occupied West Bank on September 6, 2024.
Economics for Everyone (E4E), Palestine Action of South Sound (PASS), and the Rachel Corrie Foundation invite you to attend “Murder on Stolen Land: Aysenur Ezgi Eygi and the Struggle Against Israeli Occupation”, a panel discussion on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Moving Parts Studio (302 Columbia St NW Olympia, WA).
Join us as we commemorate the life of Aysenur, a recent University of Washington graduate, who was protesting against settlements in the town of Beita when Israeli forces opened fire on demonstrators.
We will discuss the history of resistance against Israel’s ongoing expansion into the West Bank.
Panelists will include:
Rose Y. is an Evergreen State College graduate student who recently travelled to the West Bank in an International Solidarity Movement (ISM) delegation with Aysenur Eygi. Rose will speak about Aysenur Eygi’s murder and Protective Presence in Palestine.
Imad Ahmad is a Palestinian-American whose family hails from Beita and who has spent extensive time in the area. Imad will outline the innovative strategies being employed in the fight against Israel’s land theft.
Steve Niva is a professor of Middle East politics at The Evergreen State College and former editor of the magazine, Middle East Report. Steve will explore the broader strategy of Israeli settler colonization in the West Bank.

On September 8th, the Olympia Film Society (OFS), Palestinian Action of South Sound (PASS), and the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice (RCF) present two films:

OFS, PASS, and RCF present this fundraiser for Palestinian children in Gaza and The West Bank with all proceeds going to the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA). The evening will feature the double-feature screening, Q&A with the director of both films, speakers with updates from Palestine, a bake sale, book and info tabling, PASS merchandize and more!
Therese Saliba, Evergreen professor of Political Economy, Environmental Justice and Gender/ Queer studies, and Dr. Emily Antoon-Walsh, who has worked with children and healthcare workers in Palestine, will introduce the films, provide updates to the current situation in Palestine, and co-moderate a post-film video Q&A with director Zelda Edmunds – who will be video calling from Japan!
Tickets are available at the box office 30 minutes before showtime.
Palestine at the Farm
Join us for a farm tour with Farmer Dr. Ayoub and learn about permaculture, social change farming, compost, and community building as the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice presents educational activities for all ages. Bring children to explore the farm with a storywalk of “These Chicks” in English and Arabic from local Palestinian author Laila Taji and Arabishway. Listen to stories from Palestinian guest speaker, Nisreen Ghussein and visit with Cindy and Craig Corrie to learn more about their efforts in supporting Gaza. Fresh Organic farm products such as honey, fruit trees, seeds, and halal meats are available as well as petting goats and learning about how social change farming can help us locally and globally.

The Golden Rule Sails Again for a Nuclear-Free
World and a Peaceful, Sustainable Future!!
The Golden Rule is a project of Veterans For Peace that dramatically advances VFP’s (Veterans for Peace) opposition to nuclear weapons and war. The Golden Rule originally set sailwith Quaker activists in 1958 to stop nuclear weapons tests in the Marshall Islands. Although detained by the US Coast Guard, their action inspired the many peacemakers and peace ships that followed. In 2010 VFP members and supporters
recovered and restored the Golden Rule which now sails again to show that nuclear abolition is possible, and that bravery and tenacity can overcome militarism. The Golden Rule will dock and be open to the public at Percival Landing Public Moorage, 217 Thurston Ave NW, Olympia on August 15 & 16. In addition, crew members will speak to the public during presentations at the Olympia Friends Meeting on Thursday, August 15 at 6:30 pm, 3201 Boston Harbor Road NE; Olympia, WA and on Friday August 16 at New Traditions Fair Trade , 300 5th Ave SW in Olympia beginning at 6:00 pm.
