The Golden Rule Sails Again for a Nuclear-Free
World and a Peaceful, Sustainable Future!!
The Golden Rule is a project of Veterans For Peace that dramatically advances VFP’s (Veterans for Peace) opposition to nuclear weapons and war. The Golden Rule originally set sailwith Quaker activists in 1958 to stop nuclear weapons tests in the Marshall Islands. Although detained by the US Coast Guard, their action inspired the many peacemakers and peace ships that followed. In 2010 VFP members and supporters
recovered and restored the Golden Rule which now sails again to show that nuclear abolition is possible, and that bravery and tenacity can overcome militarism. Additional information about the Golden Rule’s history, mission and press contacts. for its 2024 Northwest Tour is located on pages 2 and 3 of this press release.
