Palestine at the Farm

Posted on August 22, 2024

Join us for a farm tour with Farmer Dr. Ayoub and learn about permaculture, social change farming, compost, and community building as the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice presents educational activities for all ages. Bring children to explore the farm with a storywalk of “These Chicks” in English and Arabic from local Palestinian author Laila Taji and Arabishway. Listen to stories from Palestinian guest speaker, Nisreen Ghussein and visit with Cindy and Craig Corrie to learn more about their efforts in supporting Gaza. Fresh Organic farm products such as honey, fruit trees, seeds, and halal meats are available as well as petting goats and learning about how social change farming can help us locally and globally.

See the Facebook event for more info.

Film screening: Where Olive Trees Weep

Posted on July 28, 2024

We invite you to a film screening of the recently released Where Olive Trees Weep, Wednesday, July 31, 6:30 pm at The Evergreen State College (TESC), 2700 Evergreen Pkwy NW, Olympia, in Seminar 2, B1105.

This event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Center for Community Based Learning & Action (CCBLA) at Evergreen, the Rachel Corrie Foundation, JVP Olympia, and TESC Divest. The film will be followed by a short discussion.

Where Olive Trees Weep offers a searing window into the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation.

The film follows Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, Israeli journalist Amira Hass, Dr. Gabor Maté, and others, to explore themes of loss, trauma, and the quest for justice and collective liberation.

Peace Vigil for Palestine: Week 40

Posted on July 10, 2024

We invite you to continue to join us as we mark the 40th week since we began gathering following the most recent attack on Gaza, in October.

40 weeks and more then nine months later, it’s important that we remain visible in our demands for a permanent peace and equality.

Come join us as we continue to hold a vigil for peace, waving signs as we advocate for human rights for everyone.

Thanks to the Olympia Fellowship of Reconciliation for continuing to hold these vigils for years, and for inviting us to share the space as we work for peace and justice.

Weekly peace vigil

Posted on June 13, 2024

Join us as we continue to gather at Percival Landing every Friday to hold signs calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to military aid to Israel.

As conditions in Palestine, and Gaza, worsen it’s increasingly important to show support for Palestinians.

Thanks to Olympia Fellowship of Reconciliation for inviting us to share this space.  Many members of Olympia FOR stand on south side of 4th Street, closer to Traditions Fair Trade.  Spend time to get to know them and thank them for their continued efforts toward peace.
