TPNW – 3rd anniversary gathering and sign waving

January 21 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The Olympia Coalition to Abolish Nuclear Weapons is celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), an international treaty that became enforceable under international law in January 2021.

The TPNW bans a wide range of activities, such as using, possessing, developing, testing, and transferring nuclear weapons, making them illegal under international law. (Currently, 93 are signatory nations, of which 69 ratified it.)

The Coalition will wave signs for peace and de-nuclearization.  The Coalition invites you to join, and there will be signs.  It’s also suggested to bring bells, to ring in peace.

The Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice has been a member  of the Olympia Coalition to Abolish Nuclear Weapons since the Coalition began in 2017,  as  well as the umbrella group at the state level, organized the Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility.
