Do you love soccer, the Seattle Sounders, local Olympia beer, and supporting Palestinians in Gaza? If you answered yes to any part of that question, we invite you to join the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace & Justice (RCF) for a soccer FUNdraiser during Happy Hour on June 2, 2018 at Three Magnets Brewing Co!
Join RCF in the Barrel Room at 4 pm for a brief multimedia presentation about the Rachel Corrie Gaza Sport Initiative, specifically highlighting the 11th Annual Rachel Corrie Ramadan Football Tournaments that take place in Gaza every year during the holy month of Ramadan (currently happening now!).
At a time when Gaza is facing extreme hardship and external violence, we look forward to sharing how our long-running initiative transcends factional identities, age, gender, and physical abilities to unite Palestinians together through sports for enjoyment, play, normality, and community building. This grassroots initiative helps heal communities, strengthens bonds, and promotes nonviolence as a response to an ongoing military occupation, siege, and blockade.
After the presentation, there will be the opportunity to ask questions, make friends, win raffle prizes, enjoy Happy Hour food & drink, sign up for the Olympia Ramadan Football Soccer Tournament, and then gradually make our way into the main bar area to watch the Seattle Sounders face off with Real Salt Lake.
Bring your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and fellow soccer nuts! We hope to see you there!
