Dr. Ron Smith at Traditions Cafe Wednesday August 6th 7pm

Dr. Ron Smith is coming to Olympia, August 6th at 7pm to speak about the current situation and conditions in Gaza at Traditions Cafe (300 5th Ave SW). In June 2014, Dr. Smith traveled to Gaza with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). He has studied and traveled in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel several times, as well as in other parts of the region. He has published articles about the conflict and human rights in the area. Dr. Smith holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Washington. He is currently a professor of International Relations at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, and also a documentary filmmaker.
