April 17-19, 24 Roots & Leaves of Solidarity: A Theatre of the Oppressed Workshop

March 24, 2015 @ 4:00 pm

The Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural Project invites mural participants to engage in a dialogue utilizing Theatre of the Oppressed. We will re-imagine society using games & exercises to explore collective resistance and resilience. As founder Augosto Boal said, “The theater itself is not revolutionary: it is a rehearsal for the revolution.”

Using the interactive tools of Theatre of the Oppressed, this workshop will focus on political organizing with intersectionality as a strategy. We will explore what it takes to build strong anti-racist, multi-class movements.

What does it mean to be an organizer & activist?

How do political issues intersect?

What does solidarity mean in practice?

Join fellow community organizers, cultural workers & activists in exploring the work of making another world possible.

If you can’t attend the workshop, come to the interactive performance on April 24th during Arts Walk at the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural. Please share this information with your leadership & members. RSVP early, workshop space is limited. No theatre experience is needed.
