Mother’s Day Vigil at Northwest Detention Center

The NW Detention Center (NWDC) is the region’s largest immigration detention center. It is owned and run by the for-profit prison corporation GEO Group. Detainees from across the NW are taken to the NWDC by I.C.E. where they are held captive prior to deportation. Like some 1,300 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails, there are over 50 detainees at the NWDC currently on hunger strike demanding healthier meals, better access to health services, laundry soap to be able to wash clothes, a pay increase over their current salary of $1/day, less wait time before hearings, more access to family visits and other basic human rights. Join the Mother’s Day Vigil! RSVP here!
