The award-winning film Junction 48 will screen at the Grand Cinema in Tacoma, in conjunction with Tony Zaragoza’s class Back in the Days: History through Hip Hop. This is one of only two showings in the PNW. Junction 48: Palestinian rapper Kareem and his singer girlfriend Manar struggle, love and make music in their crime-ridden neighborhood and Tel Aviv’s hip-hop club scene. Screenplay by real-life rapper Tamer Nafar (who stars as Kareem) and Oren Moverman (The Messenger, Time Out of Mind). A social drama with kick-ass music directed by Udi Aloni (Art/Violence, Forgiveness).
