We are happy to announce that RCF is the recipient of a $2,000 grant from the A.J. Muste Memorial Institute for a project entitled “Why BDS? What Can It Do?” As the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement comes under increasing threat of legal intimidation and mischaracterization, there is an increasing need to step up efforts to educate people about and engage them through this non-violent, rights based strategy for political change. The grant will sustain the efforts of our BDS committee – comprised of community members, volunteers, board members, and staff – including the development of outreach materials, strategy workshops, and educational presentations.
We are very grateful to the A.J. Muste Memorial Institute for their support of this important project. The Institute publishes pamphlets and books on nonviolence, provides grants and sponsorship to grassroots groups throughout the U.S. and internationally, and provides office space to social justice organizations at their “Peace Pentagon” in New York City. You can find out more about their history and current projects at www.ajmuste.org.
