SUMMARY:Healing Walk: Sequalitchew Creek Trail
DESCRIPTION:Join Palestine Action of South Sound (PASS) for a healing walk at Sequalitchew Creek Trail\, a hidden gem. It is fully shaded\, but glitters like an emerald in spring and summer as the sun peeks through its lush canopy. We will start at the trailhead and walk down to the saltwater where the Nisqually People’s village of Sequalitchew thrived for thousands of years until European colonization. On this walk we will learn about edible berries and plants\, the area’s incredible human history\, and continued threats to the land and waters from so-called “development.” \nMeet at Dupont Civic Center Parking Lot.\, 1780 Civic Dr. \nThere is a carpool option: meet at Grocery Outlet on the Westside of Olympia at 5:20 PM. \nThis is a free\, family-friendly event.

SUMMARY:Israel\, Iran\, and the U.S. Role - a panel discussion
DESCRIPTION:Join RCF and PASS (Palestine Action of South Sound) this Monday\, June 23\, at the YWCA Friendship Hall\, in Olympia\, from 7pm until 9pm for a panel discussion on Israel\, Iran\, Palestine\, and the United States. In the early hours of June 13\, Israel targeted Iran with a series of airstrikes using American weapons. Several were killed in Tehran. The two largest militaries in the region are now exchanging blows\, while the Trump administration\, scrambled by Israel’s unprovoked attack on Iran\, wavers on the edge of direct US involvement. The panel will be composed of faculty of The Evergreen State College. \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Peace vigil - week 90
DESCRIPTION:We continue to gather and advocate for Palestinians to remain safely in Gaza\, and for peace with justice\, and also to bring attention to people detained without charge and to our first amendment rights. \nIt has been more than ninety weeks since Israel began its destruction of Gaza following October 7\, 2023.  Children in Gaza continue to face unconscionable starvation imposed by the Israeli government and military. Join us today and every Friday to say “FEED GAZA NOW!” If you can\, please bring your own sign with that message\, or come and use one of our other signs calling for a free Palestine.  Bring a friend! \nThanks to the Olympia Fellowship of Reconciliation for organizing these peace vigils through the years\, and for inviting us to share this space as we advocate for peace.  Join us every week at Percival Landing\, in downtown Olympia.  It’s important we remain visible in our collective work for peace.
