SUMMARY:Voices From the Holy Land Film Salon: Made Homeless in the Homeland: Lawfare\, Demolition\, and Land Theft -RCF cosponsored
DESCRIPTION:The Rachel Corrie Foundation is delighted to co-sponsor Voices From the Holy Land film salon Made Homeless in the Homeland: Lawfare\, Demolition\, and Land Theft on Sunday\, February 16.  Remember to register for this Zoom event. \nIn an ongoing policy of ethnic cleansing\, Israeli authorities uproot fruit trees\, raze farmland\, destroy rainwater reservoirs and irrigation systems\, and demolish homes. Meanwhile increasingly emboldened Israeli settlers — protected by soldiers — taunt families and vandalize property. The ultimate goal is to force Palestinians off the land. \nWith the world’s attention diverted by the war on Gaza\, displacement of West Bank Palestinians has increased dramatically in the past year. Our Salon will focus on Israel’s aggressive use of lawfare in its campaign of ethnic cleansing\, the longstanding efforts of Palestinians to nonviolently resist\, and the role of allies. \nWatch the curated film for free at your convenience. | Join the Q&A discussion with: \nBruno Sorrentino: London-based filmmaker specializing in longitudinal documentaries \nEid Suleman Hathaleen: Artist & human rights activist from Umm al Khair\, home demolished by IDF \nJeff Halper: Israeli-American anthropologist\, author\, lecturer\, and political activist;founder of Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) \nMouin Rabbani (moderator): Co-Editor of Jadaliyya; researcher\, analyst\, and commentator \nRemember to register\n \nWatch the trailer:Tinyurl.com/VFHL-FebruaryTrailer \nThe trailer is helpful and optional. \nCosponsored by: \nRachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice \nIf Americans Knew

From 7 to 9:15pm on Friday\, February 21\, come here Angela Davis in discussion with other scholars talking about Collective Struggle in Critical Times\, at the Olympia Film Society.  Doors open at 6pm. \nGET YOUR TICKETS NOW! \nFrom prison abolition to Palestine liberation\, Angela Davis has been at the forefront of radical intellectual work and political activism for decades. She is an international award-winning filmmaker\, most recently for her documentary Since I Been Down\, featuring the Black Prisoner Caucus and their liberation education program. \nRanna is part of a Seattle-based grassroots collective of Palestinian and SWANA feminists that organizes at the intersection of gender justice and anti-imperialism. As a member of the diaspora\, she continues to fight for the liberation of Palestine through building education and community in Seattle. \nSponsors: Rachel Corrie Foundation\, Evergreen Tacoma (and others TBD) \nTicket prices: $25 general\, $20 members\, $10 students \nRemember to buy your tickets now!
