Please join us at this community gathering to learn about and remember Rachel\, to carry on the critical work that she inspired\, and to strengthen our individual and organizational connections for social justice. \nWe’ll view a short film about Rachel\, followed by Q&A with her parents; have social time for getting to know one another and each other’s work; engage in simple actions that address the current situation in Gaza; and share poetry that centers Palestine. DESCRIPTION:This is a timely screening of a documentary about the experiences of two American Jews and their subsequent ‘unlearning’ of unconditional support for Israel and the negation of all things Palestinian. \nFollowing the film\, there will be a discussion and Q&A with Erin Axelman\, the film’s director\, and Simone Zimmerman\, one of two people featured in the documentary. SUMMARY:Palestinian Land Day - Seattle rally and march
DESCRIPTION:Each March 30th\, Palestinians mark Land Day\, recalling how in 1976 Israel announced plans to confiscate thousands of dunams of Palestinian land in the Galilee. This led to protests across Palestine\, and on March 30\, 1976\, Israeli police killed six Palestinian citizens of Israel and injured and arrested many others. The occasion has come to exemplify the steadfastness of Palestinian resistance to colonization of their land. \nOn Saturday\, March 30\, at 2:00 p.m\, a coalition in Seattle invites us to gather at Lake Union Park for a march and rally. Organizers are calling on all people of conscience\, across Coast Salish lands\, across the Pacific Northwest\, and beyond\, to march in honor of those who fought and continue to struggle for a free Palestine.
