The Olympia-Rafah Mural Project Is Issuing A Call For Imagery:
The Olympia- Rafah Mural Project seeks images and image ideas to use in the collaborative design process that will be utilized to create a permanent public mural which will appear in downtown Olympia, Washington.
Art can dispel myths by challenging people’s views and raise awareness by depicting imagery that other forms of media do not show. Public art creates a dialogue that the whole community can take part in.
What is your connection the Israeli/ Palestinian issue? What hidden histories of local struggles for social justice would you like to share?
Your ideas matter! Please send your image ideas, poems, stories, photographs, or written descriptions, along with your name, address, phone number and email address. Please indicate if you are interested in being added to the email listserv for mural project updates. Send images as a .jpg file (less than 1 MB if possible) and written ideas as a Word document, to mural@rachelcorriefoundation.org
While not every element suggested will make its way into the mural, we believe that all that all contributions will inform the important discussion and community building occurring and will impact the final mural design. THANKS!
