Peace Works: A Celebration of the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural Project

Please join us in celebrating the completion of the Mural (phase II) on Saturday, October 17th. We will honor all participants through a day of food, discussion, procession, music, dancing, and celebration. Highlights include Native American and Rachel Corrie Foundation delegates speaking on their recent trips to the West Bank and Gaza, and a workshop on Art & Activism.

Rachel's parents to discuss recent trip to Gaza

cindy_and_craig.jpgCraig and Cindy Corrie are scheduled to speak about their late daughter’s peace efforts in Gaza during the Tuesday meeting of the Democratic Study Group at Panorama.

The event starts at 1:30 p.m. in the Quinault auditorium, 1835 Circle Lane S.E., in Lacey. It is open to the public, regardless of political viewpoint.

Amy GoodmanBerd Whitlock writes: “Amy Goodman appeared in Olympia on Sunday, March 29, 2009 as part of her book tour, Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times, which she co-wrote with her brother, David Goodman. She demonstrated her wonderful wit and way with words before a crowd of several hundred.

Demonstrate against shooting Tristan Anderson in New Haven

Tristan AndersonAlmost 6 years to the day that Rachel Corrie was murdered Tristan of Oakland was shot down in the Palestinian village of Nil’in. He was shot in the head with a tear-gas canister and is in critical condition.

On Monday, March 16 the Middle East Crisis Committee and the Palestinian American Congress (CT) are calling for a demonstration in New Haven, Conn., on the steps of the Federal Courthouse on Church St. (across from the Green) at 4 p.m.
