Interning with the Rachel Corrie Foundation (RCF) provides a meaningful way to work towards peace and justice and gain a variety of skills. We are looking for passionate and reliable students with strong organizational skills who, among their specific responsibilities, are able to attend weekly staff meetings. Our internships are available for a single quarter. However, preference is given to students who commit to interning for multiple quarters.
Help the Rachel Corrie Foundation organize, promote, and evaluate our 11th Annual Peace Works! The Peace Works Coordinator/Intern will work with the Peace Works Planning Committee and Program Manager to help plan for RCF’s 2017 Peace Works event. The ideal intern will have experience or very strong interest in event development and management, outreach, communications, meeting facilitation, working in a committee, and will be available on weekends and evenings for some meetings and functions. You may also have the opportunity to coordinate one-time events (visiting speakers, book tours, emergency protests, etc.) or other ongoing events through your internship (Olympia Spring Arts Walk, March 16th, etc.).
The Marketing & Communications Intern will gain experience in maintaining and developing social media strategies by supporting Rachel Corrie Foundation personnel with their marketing materials, various communication tools, and other educational materials that support our tabling efforts as well as online platforms including Constant Contact, WordPress, Facebook and Twitter. The intern will work directly with the Administrative Manager and Public Policy/Communications Manager to support RCF programs and communications.
Gaza Projects Intern
The Rachel Corrie Foundation has a strong connection to the people of Gaza. In the coming year RCF will be strengthening our connections with our partners in Gaza through a variety of projects. These projects can greatly benefit from your time, talents, and interest! The Gaza Projects Intern will gain experience ranging from encouraging and utilizing communication and exchange; providing support for grassroots, humanitarian and community development efforts; providing scholarship assistance; education about Gaza; using the arts as tools for connection and engagement; and that have a focus on key issues (ex. clean water) and key groups (ex. women and children). The ideal intern will have some knowledge of the Israel/Palestine conflict, interest in international relations, strong interest in Gaza, strong communication skills with ability to interact positively with diverse populations and cultures, ability to work independently and to work collaboratively and with direction to carry out aspects of existing projects.
